Close comedones are like whiteheads. This means that through the pores no airflow can enter the clogged follicle. Debris which is stick with the remains of the white pore, or light yellow in some cases, until it flows off the stain. They tend to be larger, more swollen and a little more sensitive than blackheads.

Blackhead vs Whitehead treatment

An effective treatment for mild to moderate eruptions of whiteheads and blackheads is over-the-counter creams and washes the face. These treatments usually contain benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, salicylic acid or lactic acid as an active ingredient. All of these solutions are dehydrating agents that cure imperfections by removing oil and dead skin cells in the application area. If your problem is more serious, a doctor may prescribe stronger prescription treatments.

Generally, the Blackheads and whiteheads also occur due to a bacterium called Propionibacterium acnes. This can cause redness and swelling and can raise simple comedones status of cyst or nodule. Treat blackheads and whiteheads early to avoid infection. Never blow up the pimples with a sharp object or attempt to scratch the center’s imperfections. This can cause scarring and introduce more bacteria into the area.
